I've had can covers from Lux's competitors and they don't compare. Either they use very thick fiberglass inserts or are of subpar quality in comparison. The design is very well thought out and Lux seems to pay attention to the details, such as making sure there is enough cordage to tightly wrap the cover multiple times. Other covers slip off due to recoil if you don't have a leash tying the cover to the handguard or muzzle device - not Lux's. The cover may seem a tad thick at first, but the carbon pad will collapse and then normalize after shooting a bit. I'm a pretty high volume shooter and I would say the Street Rat is enough heat mitigation for 99% of shooters out there with full auto or FRT use as an exception.
